Fundraising: Laos Project Griffith Business School

When we started planning for our 10 day community internship in Laos, we had an aim of raising $3000. These funds were to go towards buying the supplies (in-country) to build an artesian water well in Sop Jak village, as well as fund building and path maintenance in Nam Et Phou Louey National Protected Area near Vang Vieng.

And, well, we have closed the bank account now with a total of $4206.73 in funds raised!!!

For my first fundraising effort, I am pretty proud and impressed with what we managed as a team. I wasn’t sure we would manage it, but it goes to prove that if you really stick to it and get creative, you can do and raise a lot!
